Causes Of Brain Fog

Brain fog, also known as clouding of consciousness is basically a condition where those who are suffering from it feel a lack of mental clarity as well as feelings of mental confusion. The name brain fog originates based on the description that those who are suffering from it basically feel “foggy” or “cloudy” in their minds, which reduces the ability to focus and think clearly. There are many different causes of brain fog.

While there are a few possible causes of brain fog, the condition is not recognized as a clinical diagnosis. This is because there are no definitive tests to diagnose the condition. In other words, the people who are suffering from brain fog basically know that they are not functioning at their best, and their mind becomes unclear, “hazy” or “foggy”. Brain fog is a subjective condition, but many experts in psychology regards it as a psychological problem.Causes of brain fog

Brain fog is quite common and it affects almost anyone, causing the inability to focus, difficulties in thinking clearly, as well as being unhappy, prone to accidents, as well as social problems. Some of the most common causes of brain fog are:

Stress: Severe stress could cause the brains to be over-stimulated. When this happens, the mind gets exhausted, and this is when brain fog could develop. A good way to overcome this is to find ways to de-stress or manage stress.

Lack Of Sleep: One of the most common causes of brain fog is not having enough sleep. When you do not have enough sleep, you will find it hard to concentrate, focus and think clearly. For a healthy mind and to avoid brain fog, you will have to sleep for at least 8 hours every night.

Fatigue: The feeling of fatigue and lethargy is also one of the most common causes of brain fog. Fatigue from working too hard, not having enough rest and overeating could affect your mind.

Malnutrition: When you have nutrient deficiencies, your body will not have enough resources to support the activity of the brain. Overcome this problem by taking a potent multivitamin every day, especially ones that contain zinc, B vitamins, potassium and vitamin C.

Depression: Depression is one of the main causes of brain fog. Basically your brain shuts down and rejects most things, and because of this, brain fog could develop. If you are having depression you should seek help from your doctor.
